Foam parties are the newest craze in outdoor summer party fun. Companies offering foam party events are popping up everywhere. If you haven’t been invited to a foam party yet, chances are that you or your child will be invited to one soon. Here is what you should bring to a foam party to make the event even more fun:
A camera- Everyone has a camera on their phone, but be sure not to leave your phone at home for this party. Foam parties make crazy, fun photo memories that will make your friends and family smile when they see you as a foam monster or sporting your new foam hairdo on your favourite social media platform. Warning though, be prepared to go viral!
Quick drying clothes or a change of clothes- Participating in a foam party can get you anywhere from a little wet to completely soaked. Most people wear a light t-shirt and shorts or swimwear. A change of clothes can be a good idea for after the foam party.
A towel- A face towel is a good idea for wiping foam off a child’s face should they get foam in their eyes. The foam won’t hurt or sting their eyes, but younger children tend to get scared if they can’t see for a moment. Wipe the foam from their eyes and chances are they will go running back in the foam and continue having fun. A larger bath towel or beach towel is great for drying off after the foam party.
Sunscreen- Foam parties are often held at night with glow-in-the-dark foam, ultra violet lights and crazy portable party lights. But if your foam party takes place during the day, be sure to use sunscreen to protect your skin.
Light running shoes- Foam parties are held on surfaces like grass or concrete. There is a misconception that foam is extra slippery. The foam dissipates to water, so the area is about as slippery as wet grass or wet concrete. Light comfortable flat soled shoes that you don’t mind getting wet are ideal.
Goggles- Some children like to wear goggles to keep the foam out of their eyes completely. They certainly aren’t necessary though. The foam solution is over 99% water. It contains the same foaming agent as bubble bath but without any added ingredients or fragrances.
Colored Foam Parties- You could be invited to a gender reveal party where the foam will be either blue or pink, or an event like a Canada Day foam party where the foam is red & white. The dye in the colored foam can stain your clothing and your skin slightly. Don’t worry, the dye will wash off your skin, but your clothes may stain. Make sure to wear older clothing and a white t-shirt to make it part of the fun.
Glow in the dark Foam parties- If you get invited to, or host a nighttime party, it’s visually stunning with the party lights and the way the foam illuminates from the UV lights. But just like with the colored foam, the glow additive may stain your clothes so older light clothes are recommended.
Now that you know what to bring to a foam party, you just have to wait for your invitation to one. Or you could reach out to Foaming Dragon Entertainment and host your own foam party!
